Ronald McDonald House Houston (RMH Houston) hosted its 2019 Boo Ball on Saturday, October 26th at the Hilton Americas-Houston in downtown. The gala brought together and celebrated the generosity of more than 650 of RMH Houston’s biggest supporters for a spook-tacular evening that raised more than $722,000 for the House.
Longtime RMH Houston supporters Liliya and Matthew Kades served as event chairs, while Magician Ben Jackson entertained and emceed the festivities. The night’s event called for black tie or Halloween-inspired attire. Upon arriving, guests sipped on cocktails and perused the numerous silent auction items. For dinner, attendees noshed on decadent grilled beef tenderloin with a red wine jus, while dessert was nothing short of sweet with Purple Devil – Caramel Chocolate Cup with Raspberry Blood and Candy Cane Horns – on the menu.
As guests enjoyed the bountiful feast, dynamic auctioneer Rusty Mertink led the riveting live auction featuring a South African Photo Safari trip and an art piece designed by the talented young artists of The Museum of Fine Arts Houston’s Glassell Junior School of Art that will be installed in the newly renovated Holcombe House Foyer. Afterwards, DJ Ash hit the stage as the witches and warlocks danced the night away.
Funds raised through the 2019 Boo Ball will support RMH Houston’s mission to provide a home away from home for families of seriously ill children being treated in the Texas Medical Center.
